Happy Friday! This week I'm sharing the work of J. Alex Darr. I had the pleasure of meeting her and seeing her process when I took a metal-smithing course in college and her work immediately took my breath away. The jewelry pieces she's created since have continued to astound and inspire me. Her pieces often feature nature imagery that are simply beautiful, but what always amazes me is the sense of movement in many of her pieces. The pieces feel less like a static, sculptural piece of jewelry, and more like an experience, like interacting with a living thing. That feeling I get every time I see one of her pieces has inspired me to continue to experiment in my own work and keep my own sense of curiosity and wonder alive.
I hope you all will enjoy as well. I encourage you check out her facebook page and her portfolio on deviantART to see more of her amazing work.
